A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Christopher, born and raised in the little town of Shafter, CA, has been performing as a solo and collaborative artist for over 25 years. He has been performing with the national award-winning piano duo “The Smith Brothers” for over sixteen of those years. While Christopher is an accomplished solo performer, his passion lies in duo piano work and other collaborations such as musical directing, chamber work, and vocal coaching/accompanying. Through creative and versatile programming, Christopher enjoys entertaining diverse audiences anywhere, especially with his brother Johnathon. He is always very excited to work with other creative and talented artists. Christopher also has a long history of working in Musical Theatre and more recently, opera. Christopher has a long history of working in Musical Theatre as a music director and pianist. Some highlights of productions that he has worked on are: Westside Story (McCoy-Rigby), Les Miserable, Evita (Musical Theatre West), Guys and Dolls, Footloose, Fantasticks, Sweet Charity, Jasper in Deadland (OCSA), Chicago, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Rocky Horror (No Square Theatre), Spring Awakening and Rent (Saddleback College), “13” (Old Town Temecula Theatre). In addition to performing, Christopher enjoys teaching piano, coaching vocalists, and teaching musical theater at The Laguna Playhouse. Christopher is currently on staff at Orange County School of the Arts as a teacher and is the resident music director for the Musical Theatre Conservatory. He is also the Pianist and Director of Choral Music at La Jolla Community Church. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from PLNU and MFA in Music (Collaborative Piano) from UC Irvine. Christopher currently resides with his wife, Joy, and son, Grayson, in Mission Viejo, CA.
