STUDIO POLICY

Lessons and Coachings:  Lessons/Coachings are 30, (45), or 60 minutes long, and are usually given once a week. Students/parents are expected to notify me at least 24 hours in advance of any cancellation of a lesson time. If a lesson or coaching needs to be re-scheduled due to planned absence of a student, such as a family vacation, at least 3 week prior notice is required. Make-up lessons/coachings are subject to the discretion of the teacher. There will be 1 or 2 Sundays a month offered for make up lessons. If the student misses a lesson without proper prior notification, the lesson will not be made up. *Please note: Lessons missed by the teacher will always be made up (or you will receive a refund/credit for the missed lesson). No lessons/coachings will be given over major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Years and Easter.

Lesson Fees and Payments:     Per Lesson fees are $50.00 per half hour lesson, ($60 per 45 min. lesson), and $80.00 per hour lesson. If paying weekly, a one lesson deposit is required. Monthly pre-paid lesson packages are available with a discount. Payment is due by the first lesson of each month for the entire month. 1 Hour - $299/mo.; (45 min. - $235/mo.); 30 min $185/mo. There will be an additional fee if the teacher is required to travel to the student’s home. This will be discussed as necessary.  If for some reason a student wishes to discontinue lessons, one-month notification is required. The teacher reserves the right to terminate lessons after habitual (3 or more lessons) un-preparedness, and no refund for tuition will be offered. Preferred payment options: Cash, Check, PayPal and Venmo. I also accept Credit Card, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay.

Piano Lesson Student Responsibilities:

  • Students are expected to practice a minimum of five days a week, for a duration of time as determined by the teacher on an individual basis.

  • Each student will provide, and bring to every lesson, a notebook in which assignments will be written for that week’s practicing.

  • Students are to bring ALL of the books and materials, which are being worked on, to each lesson.

  • Students are to come to lessons ready to learn and with a positive attitude.

Parent Responsibilities:  The parent’s commitment to their student’s piano lessons plays a big role in their student’s success.  At home, the parents need to be encouraging and supportive of their student’s practice requirements (young children will probably need assistance with their practicing).  To help facilitate productive practice, every student is required to have a metronome.  A metronome can be purchased at any music store for $25-$50.  Also, you should attend live music events such as the symphony or going to hear a concert pianist.

Books and Materials: Depending on the situation, I will either purchase the music for the student and have them reimburse me, or I will have students purchase the music themselves.  Some music retailers are:
